10 years of Windows 95

Wednesday, August 24, 2005 4:52:09 PM (Eastern Daylight Time, UTC-04:00)

It's hard to beleive that it's been 10 years since millions of little blue boxes were opened around the world, giving us Windows 95 and all of it's innovations. Things were certainly different back then before broadband, Google, VoIP, Scoble. I wonder how many clicks of the Start menu it's been since? I think the feature that had the most impact for me was the integrated dialer for interenet access. At the time ISP's were trying to support a variety of PPP/SLIP dialing applications. A dial and a browser in the OS? Now that was innovation!
